Dear Maya,
This week we celebrated Christmas a little early with Grandma and Papa Stan as they visited us from North Carolina. They arrived on Tuesday, went to pick up Aunt Bobbie on Wednesday and then Aunt Kelsie and Uncle Shawn joined us that night. There were Christmas songs, hugs, Christmas movies, kisses, Christmas decorations, cuddles, and all the other good stuff that goes along with this magical holiday. It was wonderful.
Exhibit A: Making Christmas cookies
LOVE how you seemed to think of cookie cutting like a puzzle--trying to fit as many cutters on the dough as possible! |
Sprinkles were hard to use so we gave you Craisins and mini choco chips--very few of which made it onto your cookie! |
Exhibit B: Exchanging Christmas presents
You loved Aunt Kelsie's Christmas decoration and said "Choo choo!" when the train came around the track! |
Enjoying your beautiful new easel with Papa Stan |
Exhibit C: Lovin' on Grandma!
One last thing, in case you wondered why mommy and everyone were squeezing you so much more tonight than usual, know that we are so glad to have you happy, healthy and safe. We are thinking of the families who have lost loved ones to the tragedy in Connecticut today. It's so, so heartbreaking.
Love you so much!
P.S. The new word list grows ever longer...mouth, soup, carrot, celery, cookie, pretzel, Cheerios, sit down, phone, ladybug (sort of), elephant, empty, tree, and a very unique rendition of Jingle Bells.
