Halloween for the birds

Dear Maya and Emi,

I think this has been the longest mommy has ever gone without blogging. We've been busy busy busy around here between school, activities, work, and life at our new house! Here's a snapshot of what's been going on:

We managed to get the whole family together for apple picking this year! You two and your cousins Grace and William especially enjoyed feeding and petting the farm animals.

Maya, mommy joined you on your field trip to a local farm where you learned about where your food comes from and got to prepare, cook, and eat a meal there!

Both of you submitted T-rex drawings for a stamp cancellation contest for a North Carolina post office. Maya, yours won and they had a celebration complete with your drawing printed on a cake! We couldn't be there, but Grandpa and Lori brought some cake up when they visited!

Lots of outdoor play for you guys (and some indoor, too)

Matt's birthday!

Yesterday was Halloween and you guys were the cutest flamingo and toucan ever! Mommy had to work so Grandma went to watch your parade at school (according to you, Maya, grandma 'went wild' when she saw you! lol) At night it was very windy and a bit rainy so we only trick or treated around one block as well as quick stops to see Grandma and Papa Stan, Uncle Matt, and the park Halloween party. Still, the amount of candy you ended up with is more than sufficient--and we're heading to see Nanny and Poppy today so it will surely grow!

Okay, mommy has to go get you ready for Halloween part 2. Love you both!
