Unicorn 6th Birthday Party

Dear Emi,

Yesterday we celebrated your 6th birthday with a socially distanced unicorn party! It was forecast to be the hottest day of the summer but we had a kiddy pool, a new canopy for shade, and plenty of breezes and cold drinks, thank goodness. Here are some photos of your fun day:

You remembered seeing this cake at Sam's Club a year ago and so you had to have it! 

It was too windy to blow out your candle outside so we had to pop inside for this part. 

You were so shy while everyone was singing to you. 

 

Your party was a success! Thanks so much to our beautiful family for the sweet gifts and much love. Looking forward to a less distanced party next year!

Isolated summer break begins

Dear Maya & Emi,

Just a quick blog post to catch up on what we've been doing before the annual Emi's birthday post (or posts?) this weekend! Summer vacation is here and we've been enjoying the break from homeschooling, but wishing that the summer recreation program hadn't been canceled. Still, we have had plenty of sun and fun and are looking forward to lots more. Here's what we've been up to:

Major basement play area cleanout! Mommy is totally embarrassed at this first photo but hey, homeschooling took all our energy for a few months there. But as soon as that was done, we attacked this mess!

Swimming, online karate, bike riding (lots of skinned knees & elbows)

Ukulele, piano, and playing dress up
