Such a roller coaster...

Dear Maya and Emi,

I know Mommy always starts these blog posts off saying we've basically been on a roller coaster since the last post, but I don't think it's ever been quite so true as this time.

The very day after the last post, Papa Stan fell and broke his hip. While he was in the hospital he had another health scare that, luckily, didn't amount to anything. But mommy spent lots of time in the hospital that week and we've been cheering him on through his recovery ever since.

Then a couple weeks later Poppy had a fall and went to the hospital. He also had some underlying health issues discovered once he was admitted, and the whole family rallied around him and Nanny that weekend. Unfortunately he doesn't have much time left with us, plus his mental faculties come and go unpredictably. But it's beautiful to see that the love and laughs he has for you two has been constant. We're treasuring every moment we can.

There have been other hard moments in the last month, too, including a fire at the healthcare office we use/work for. The saving grace in all of this is that you two have been pretty well behaved for the most part, despite schedule upheavals and stressed parents. We are so thankful for that!

In the midst of all this, here are some small moments I captured in photos:

Grandma's birthday party (William was there but having a cranky moment out of frame)

Maya's first salon experience--thank you, Aunt Kelsie!!

Our new Tuesday dinner tradition--Kids Cook Night!

Four thumbs up!

Well, mommy's going to get some work done while you two are playing nicely. Love you both so much!
