The 2023 Holiday Season

Dear Maya and Emi,

I can't believe it's the end of the year already! One or all of us were sick basically the entire month of November (we even stayed home from Thanksgiving at Grandma's house) so maybe that's why it seems to have flown by. But we did squeeze a lot of Christmas festivities into December so let's focus on that!

  • Cutting our own Christmas tree: it's awesome that you two can basically do this yourselves now!

  • Decorating: Our tradition is to have egg nog and listen to Christmas music while we decorate, though turning you into a Christmas axolotl may be a new tradition, Emi!

  • Visiting Santa!
  • Christmas crafts: You both made gingerbread houses at Emmeline's house, and we made orange peel mushrooms at home

  • Christmas Music: Maya, you had an awesome holiday concert at school, plus we went to see Mr. & Mrs. Farrell (your 1st grade teacher) sing original holiday songs we know AND went to see the Nutcracker on the same day!

  • Christmas Eve: We exchanged our gifts to each other (and you both gave gifts to each others' stuffed animals!) and watched a movie in our Christmas pjs

  • Christmas Day: Santa brought you a lot of cool craft items, toys and games, then we went to Grandma's house and spent time with the whole family!

And now here we are just about to celebrate someone's first TEEN birthday tomorrow--but mommy will be back to blog about that soon.

Love you both!
